10am- Good morning everyone. I have some amazing news- I have an Oxford interview!! I will be in Lady Margaret Hall college, Oxford from Tuesday until Friday (and possibly Saturday) next week! I'm so excited!!! I haven't written on here for a while as I had a terrible couple of days last week, followed by great excitement. Most of the Oxford applicants at AC seemed to have received interview e mails on Thursday and Friday. I didn't receive one and remembered being told that the rejection letters were sent by post. Therefore, I had convinced myself that that was it and tried to prepare myself for the rejection letter. This included a walk to the seafront one night on my own to cry for an hour! I had really hoped for an interview but had always told myself not to let a rejection really upset me. However, I think being here, and feeling surrounded by people receiving offers (which actually was not the case) really affected me. Studying History at Oxford is my dream and when I thought even the possibility of this had disappeared, I was devastated. But then on Monday afternoon I received an e mail!!! And the rest is history...! ( a terrible pun but I couldn't resist!)
I did my individual recorded English oral commentary for the IB yesterday afternoon. All week I have been more nervous about that than my interview. It was actually fine in the end and not worth all the worrying. I'm very glad it's over however. I am now concentrating on relaxing and enjoying my last couple of days with everyone here before we all leave for Christmas. I am also reading and trying to prepare for my interview. I am SO excited and not that nervous. I am just going to go along, be myself and try my best. I can't wait to live in an Oxford college for a couple of days!
Am going to go and curl up on a sofa in the library and read for a while. I have next code free as the Languages Department is being used for orals. Love to all.
